Best time to visit Tenerife
Tenerife is a popular tourist destination all year owing to its gorgeous, warm, and sunny weather. The north-eastern trade winds are responsible for Tenerife's unique climate. These collect water vapour over the Atlantic Ocean, climb across the northern slopes of the Pico del Teide, and eventually drip down in fine drizzle.
Temperatures change because the Teide functions as a weather divide, creating two microclimates to the north and south.
Summer vacation
The months of May through the end of September are ideal for visiting the south of Tenerife, as the weather begins to heat up. It draws people in with its long, pleasant days and gentle evenings. A wonderful cold sea wind refreshes even the hottest summer days.
The ideal months to explore Tenerife's north and east are May, June, and October, when temperatures are warm and no rain is forecast. The summer months of July, August, and September will be warmer.
Tenerife's winter season
If you're visiting Tenerife during the winter, it's preferable to stay in the south. Tenerife's winters are exceptionally warm, making it a popular time to come, especially in February, when the island is famed for its Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival. It is the world's second largest carnival, after Rio's, and is ideal for swimming and sunbathing.
Surfers visit in the winter to ride the south coast's massive rollers. During the spring, you may also see long-finned pilot whales and gather oranges. Rooms will be quite expensive during the Christmas and Carnival seasons.
